Statoilhydro ASA said it has decided to build the world’s first full scale floating wind turbine, Hywind.
The facility will be tested over a two-year period offshore Karmøy, Norway.
The Norway-based energy group said it is investing approximately 400 million Norwegian kroner, or about 50 million euros, in the project.
