Barclays Bank Plc and Sempra Energy Europe Ltd concluded the first transaction in the new coal-futures market of the European Energy Exchange yesterday, the exchange said.
At 65.20 dollars per tonne, a total of 15,000 tonnes with delivery in the first quarter of 2007 into the Amsterdam/Rotterdam/Antwerp (ARA) region were traded.
