RWE Power's acquisition of GKM stake approved by cartel office

RWE Power AG said the German cartel office (Bundeskartellamt) approved ist acquisition of a 40 percent stake in Grosskraftwerk Mannheim Aktiengesellschaft (GKM).

The stake is sold by Pfalzwerk AG. Mannheim-based GKM is one of the biggest coal-fired power plants in Germany with a generating capacity of 1,545 megawatts and a heat production capacity of 1,000 megawatts.
