Analysts have said the price did not take into account the fact that the value of firms in the utility sector has fallen 25 percent in the last few months as a result of the economic downturn.
CEO of RWE defends Essent takeover price
German energy concern RWE CEO Jürgen Grossmann told reporters on Tuesday that it has offered the right price to takeover the commercial activities of Dutch gas and electricity utility Essent, the Financial Dagblad website reported.
