Building starts at UK’s first nuclear power plant since 1995

Electricite de France (EDF) said it started the first real construction works at Britains first new nuclear plant since the 1990s, the Financial Times reported.

The Hinkley Point nuclear power station in Somerset isestimated to cost about 18 billion pounds. Following primje minister Theresa May’sapproval of the project in September, Hinkley Point recently received ago-ahead for construction work from Britain’s nuclear regulator.
