The European executive on Wednesday ordered Electricitede France (EDF) to pay back 1.37 billion euros it received in illegal state aid,the Euractiv news service reported.
"The Commission’s investigation confirmed thatEDF received an individual, unjustified tax exemption which gave it anadvantage to the detriment of its competitors, in breach of EU state aid rules,"said EU competition commissioner Margrethe Vestager.
