This price is 21 percent lower than the fixing price of 8.81 euros at the third such auction, which was held on February 22, 2012.
The volume of 1 million EUA was auctioned off as planned.
Falling Dutch carbon auction price
The European Energy Exchange (EEX) said the price was fixed at 6.95 euros per tonne at the fourth primary market auction of European emission allowances (EUA) for the Netherlands.
