Former Enron Corp. chairman Kenneth Lay resigned from the company's board, severing his links with Enron 12 days after quitting as chief executive officer and chairman.
The resignation is effective immediately, Lay said in a statement Monday evening, and is in the "best interests" of former and current Enron employees and "other stakeholders".
