Highly efficient and flexible to use, CCGT plants arecontinuously increasing in importance in Eon’s energy mix. They areparticularly suited to speedily and flexibly balancing out load fluctuations inthe grid which arise from the increasing, but non-predictable, feeding-in ofwind and solar energy.
Eon continuing to expand CCGT power generation
In Gönyü, Hungary, Eon opened the country’s most up-to-date and efficient combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant Monday. The plant, in which the company has invested approximately EUR 400 million, has a capacity of 433 MW and efficiency of over 59 percent.
