Jean-Pierre Ronteix, chairman of Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR) since June 1995, has officially asked the government to be relieved of his duties from February 1. This comes after some of CNR's state-owned shareholders abstained on a vote to ratify an electricity market accord.
