Hamburgische Electricitäts-Werke (HEW) said it is optimistic about allaying antitrust concerns about its planned acquisition of eastern German utilities Veag and Laubag, Bloomberg News reported.
HEW was asked by Germany's Federal Cartel Office (FCO) to improve its plan amid scepticism the purchase gives HEW enough access to end-customers to compete adequately.
