EU leads research into CO2 capture and storage

European energy commissioner Loyola de Palacio signed an international charter on CO2 capture and storage, or carbon sequestration, in Washington today.

The charter will create the so-called Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum with Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Italy, India, Japan, Mexico, Norway, China, Russia, the UK and the US.
